Sometimes the things we have closest are the ones we mostly forget. The hill San Cristóbal, in the heart of Santiago, and its immense Metropolitan Park (is open every day of the year, it rains, thunders or flashes).

The recommendation to climb is the bicycle or better yet, the walk.  Go step by step taking photos, breathing and enjoying. Meeting scenes that look like paintings or knowing corners that look like they are only waiting for you. All this in an environment of others who run, pedal, exercise and walk their dog's friends.

The usual route up Pío Nono, to the junction where the Tupahue pool is. Hence a stop at the Mapulemu botanical garden and we returned through the Japanese Garden to Pedro de Valdivia Norte. 

And it is that Parque Metropolitano has, absolutely, for all tastes. On weekends, entertaining gymnastics and Pilates in the Mapulemu sector, picnic areas with grill, trail routes guided by the Chilean Path Foundation and the already classic Tupahue and Antilén pools.

It goes without saying the metropolitan Zoo, the educational center Bosque Santiago, the Virgin in the Summit and of course the Funicular.

Hello friends today I'm going to talk about my website favorite that relates to my  career.

I really do not have a favorite page, because whenever I look for information, I try to find it on many different pages in order to compare the information on each page

But when I do not understand the information I'm looking for, I always go to YouTube since there are always videos that help me understand the things that cost me

Always before the tests I try to see a couple of videos to be able to better understand the subject, there are even times where you know nothing but with the help of youtube videos and managed to approve those subjets.

Among the channels that more visited "Julioprofe" and "unicoos"  these channels served me a lot to approve math, which was a subject that I studied last year

But as I have been advancing in my career I have realized that youtube videos are becoming less efficient because the courses are becoming more complex and specific.

My "favorite" subject this semester was Diagnostic Technology Bases, is a somewhat broad field since as the name indicates are the bases of the different techniques that can be used within veterinary medicine. It was an "easy" subject for me, since I attended all the classes and paid attention to them since most of them were "entertaining" or at least called my attention.

Within these '' techniques '' my favorite so far were the classes of interpretation of exams in clinical practice and Diagnostic Imaging, in the first I feel that is an important area within the veterinary, serves to monitor the state of health of an animal and help establish a diagnosis or prognosis in sick animals, they also taught us the proper use of different techniques in the laboratory, and some of the most common mistakes, I would like to learn more about the clinical laboratory, it's very likely to take the next semester some elective about this. 

The diagnosis of images is also essential and I call my attention since it was not as easy as I imagined. 

I think I have not yet decided which area I would like to devote myself to 100%, among my options it has always figured first to devote myself to wildlife, since I was a child I watched TV shows dedicated to wildlife, and since then I have been informed and I was very interested in the wildlife and its rehabilitation, I also like birds, I liked to identify the birds that I saw when I went out for a walk and teach my family so that they could also identify them.

I would also like to devote myself to the area of ​​exotic animals, since in my opinion, it is something '' more entertaining '' and out of the routine, people who own exotic animals care a lot about them, also when I was little I had a turtle (Billy) and a rabbit (Pato) I wanted to take them to a veterinarian to see that everything was fine, but unfortunately, there was no veterinarian who saw turtles or rabbits in my city.

Galapagos

 when I was going to school they made us do some work on the Galapagos Islands, and from that moment it is on my list of places I would like to travel.

Galapagos is a unique place, the mixture of geography, geology, a large number of endemic animals and, above all, the scientific history that connects the islands with Darwin and the theory of evolution combine to make the Galapagos a truly unique destination. that is precisely why UNESCO refers. as a "unique living museum".

I like the idea of ​​everything that is very natural, each island has its own flora and fauna, while others are inhabited by people, while others don’t.

The Galapagos Islands are one of the best places to see endemic wildlife, that is, some of these animals exist only in the archipelago and nowhere else in the world! But for this park to remain a great tourist place and at the same time friendly to the environment there are some rules, some are: keep at least 2 meters away with the animals, you don’t have to feed the animals, you don’t have to take memories like shells, rocks and things like that, walk the marked routes and other rules for the benefit of the place

A picture you like and its story

It is difficult for me to choose a picture, I like to take pictures but not to leave them, this picture is taken by my sister, probably with her cell phone, I think it was about 5-6 years ago I do not remember very well.

She loves being on the beach, and she loves the waves of Pichilemu, even though it's cloudy or the icy wind she also goes to the sea. I think the photo reflects how well we spent it in the summer, and it brings back the memories of traveling to Pichilemu with my whole family, from eating homemade bread for breakfast, eating some waffles or churros on the beach, in the afternoon a walk, and get to the house and play cards. 

I like to remember these simple things because at the moment I also enjoy them a lot and I hope to remember them for a long time.

My favorite gadget

My favorite technological device is my cellphone, I bought it in the summer and I take care of it a lot because I bought it with my own money and it was a great investment. I use it to inform me about things about the university, to see a movie, I also use it to listen to music, I use it to be able to move without getting lost, to play Pokemon Go and Clash Royale.

Every day I use my cell phone, and I like it because it works for most of the things I need.

I can imagine life without a cell phone, but not when I need to communicate with my parents or when it is time for exams and I need information, sometimes my cell phone turns off and stays that way for more than 1 week.

Why did you choose the career you're studying?

When I was a little girl I was very interested in biology and science. I liked to stay outside, look for insects and play with my dog. I always wanted to study something related to nature, sometimes I wanted to be a dentist.

I first studied Food Engineering, it was a last-minute decision, and only I stayed one semester, that I knew it was not what I wanted. During the second semester I took care of some puppies and confirmed the idea I had since I was little.

In 2017 entered again to the university, but this time to Veterinary Medicine.

Going to university is completely different, but interesting, because everyday you have the chance of doing the thing that you most like.
Until now, I would like to work in the area of ​​small animals, because is a part of career quite pretty and interesting or in a project of animal conservation of some endangered species.

 I am Orlanda Rubio Pereira, I was born in Rancagua, Chile on May 11th, 1998.  At elementary school, I studied at Colegio Los Conquistadores. Later, I completed the high school studies at Liceo Oscar Castro, located in Rancagua. Since 2017, I am studying Veterinary Medicine at Universidad de Chile.

I live with my father, mother and 2 of my 3 sisters, and my nice too. I have 4 dogs, Sholin(my sister put his name), Kika, Flopi, and Canela, they are an important part of the family too. My other sister lives in San Felipe with his husband and her son.

My favorite hobby is to watch movies. Some of my favorites are Pride and prejudice, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Love, Rosie (yeah, I like the romantics' movies). I love to watch series also, my favorite is Game of Thrones,  and I am very excited because of this Sunday 14 start the last season.

Opinions about learning English

1. it´s easy for me to learn words we use more often than usual

2. it's hard for me to learn times and words are similar pronunciation

3. something I want to learn in this course is interact in english 
4. I learn best in classes where the teacher explains it, then ask us, and activities that involve between other students
